Rayo 3D Biotech was founded in 2018 with a bold mission to transform dentistry through advanced robotics and 3D printing. Our team designed and built the first prototypes, which were tested in Finnish dental clinics. It soon became clear that the approach lacked the breakthrough potential we envisioned. This realization inspired us to aim higher and explore new possibilities.
While the initial project ended, it ignited a lasting passion for 3D printing and natural biomaterials—a foundation that would shape our future. From that point on, we began exploring new ways to combine these technologies beyond dentistry.

In 2021, a deep-diving and creative strategy meeting with Professor Pekka Vallittu brought new energy and expertise to the team. Pekka shared our commitment to innovation and sustainability, backed by deep research experience and knowledge of biomaterials. Together, we developed and patented InLiq 3D®—a breakthrough technology that enables printing of complex structures without underlying supports.
It also makes it possible to incorporate technical or biologically active compounds directly into the printable material. Alternatively, these compounds can be applied to the surface of printed objects, creating functionalized components for specialized applications. Fully biodegradable and free from microplastics and chemicals, InLiq 3D® opened exciting opportunities in medical and industrial markets. Commercial interest grew quickly, even as we continued refining the technology to unlock its full potential.

By 2025, our research revealed that the same natural base component powering InLiq 3D® could revolutionize other industries—especially where moisturization and material performance are critical. This led to the launch of three innovative applications:

A 100% natural, micro- and nanoplastic free hydrogel for skin and hair hydration.

A nature-inspired solution without micro- or nanoplastics for seed coating and soil conditioning, promoting sustainable agriculture.

A groundbreaking additive that enhances compressive strength and workability of cementitious materials while utilizing industrial waste—making construction more sustainable.
